City's match against Gozo postponed again

The National League 100 Anniversary Cup third round match between Valletta and Gozo FC has been postponed for the umpteenth time. This fixture was originally scheduled to be played on November 9 but the Malta FA switched it to a later date following a request by Malta U-21 coach Edwin Camilleri whose team had a UEFA qualifier away to Slovenia the following Friday.

November 25 was earmarked by the Malta FA as the new date for the Valletta-Gozo match but the decision to reschedule the Citizens' Premier League game against Tarxien Rainbows, which was played yesterday, forced the association to postpone the match for next Wednesday.

Yesterday, the MFA issued a short statement announcing that the match will not be played today week after all but stopped short of giving a new date for the fixture.

The reason for this change is that the Malta U-23 team are due to face Italy in ther opening match from the International Challenge Trophy next Wednesday. Valletta have a number of first-squad players in the national U-23 squad.
