Qala council asks about Mepa action on development
The Qala council has called on Mepa to say what steps it will be taking following the report by its audit-officer on the Qala ridge development.
In a letter, a copy of which was also sent to Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi, the council said that the auditor’s report reinforced its view that development would have a negative impact on the environment and on one of the most beautiful views on the island.
The council also called for talks on the Qala local plan, parts of which were changed without the council being informed.
It insisted that Mepa should not hide behind the excuse that an appeal into the controversial building permit was pending.

I think MEPA has already made very clear just how interested they are in what their audit-officer has to say. It's obvious that the audit-officer is only standing in the way of business as usual at MEPA!

Shame on Bukkett who is proposing this monster and it would be a bigger shame for MEPA if it approves this 'Bukkett Xewk'. Who is proposing Eco Gozo?! Tell it to the marines!!

Do the Minister for Gozo and the Gozo Business Chamber really want to be credible about ECO Gozo ? How can they keep silent about the proposed 'Bukkett Monster'?.

Don't hold your breath Qala Council while waiting for a reply from MePA! We are still waiting to see what monitoring MePA is doing at Bahrija. It seems to me that MePA is more interested in creating more development - wherever and whatever- then caring for our environment.
