Sliema road hump preventing accidents

I would like to thank The Times for publishing my letter of September 28 and also the Sliema local council for acting so promptly by installing a "sleeping policeman" (road hump) on the corner of St Francis Street and Depiro Street.

It was a black spot where regular traffic accidents occurred and residents had to suffer the sound of screeching tyres from near misses from morning till night.

Since the road hump was installed, however, there have been no traffic accidents and residents no longer suffer from the continuous noise of cars screeching to a halt.

I therefore wish to thank those who took this preventive action to avoid a serious tragedy.
