I had the pleasure to attend the Tom Jones concert in Ta' Qali. All compliments to him - I really enjoyed the performance.
The disappointing part was transport. When my husband bought tickets he asked about it and was told there would be public transport to and from Ta' Qali. Imagine our surprise when we asked at the bus terminus in Valletta and they told us there was no bus for the concert.
So we caught the bus to Rabat, stopped at some roundabout and ended up having to walk for some 20 minutes through dark streets.
A bigger disappointment was the reply from the bus driver, that the last bus from Mdina to Valletta was at 9.30 p.m. (the concert was starting at 8.30 p.m.).
So at the end of such a good concert we were faced with a walk from Ta' Qali to Birkirkara where, fed up, we ordered a taxi back home.
With panto coming up for Christmas, can somebody do something regarding transport for people who do not have car or do not drive? I would really like to attend but with two children and all that walking, I will hardly be able to make it. And I know so many other people in my situation.
