ho-hum...been there done that - five times at least - let's see, that's ummm why yes, five times more than Fiorentina???... and that's just Champions league - AND not counting the time Liverpool were unjustly banned from competing OR the hand of God goal Milan needed to win... we'll probably win the Europa cup just to enjoy ourselves - 7th June?? - my grandmother God rest her soul was actually present in Valletta - what she remember is so different to what is being spouted today ... nah, Rule Britannia over Mare Nostrum anyday my friend... now please remind me what all this has got to do with intelligent comments on the new routes being offered - you don't like them?... no problem, last i heard nobody was dragging anybody anywhere.... enjoy your midday pizza..lol

@David Calleja Liverpool has just crashed the champions league and the Rangers are out (LOL) Fiorentina are in (LOL) eh you were saying??????????? and it doesn't look good for the Manchester lot either. Ciao Bambino maybe you'll be better off to say in Rule Britannia, maybe we can build another monument next to Sette Giugno.

Ah Mr Gatt, i forgot how much the Italians spend when they come to Malta, if i'm not mistaken dont they share a can of coke between 4,give us a break, continue to be deluded with your spagetti eating, we run from every war, couldnt win a fight even if they tried Italians.
As for you Ms Galea At least Liverpool gave you the Beatles No?, besides scousers dont need to spend they would have nicked everything anyway. :))))))
Well done U2 i like you more already. best Low cost carrier around

@Darren Gatt & M.Galea(Miss) yes, very constructive contribution to the blog - we so needed your opinions on people from Liverpool and Manchester - regretably the only way to answer you is to stoop to your level - so here goes - give me the Liverpudlians & Manchurians ANY day over the Mafiosi from Sicily and the law abiding lot from Naples - to each his own... if you prefer that kind then get an Italian Airline to fly them - in the meantime, nobody is forcing you to use either easyjet or ryanair... get a life - Rule Britannia ..lollolo...

@ Darren Gatt How stupid can you get. All tourists should be welcome. It is certainly not a time to be choosy.

I agree Darren Gatt but the subject above is EasyJet and not RyanAir. But still these two airlines can take a hint from the bloggers below.

Hit the nail on the head Miss.Galea too many from that part of the world, but they are here for the sun, and just looking and not spending..By the way the Liverpool and Manchester supporters are not welcomed in my books. Maybe RyanAir can start new routes for other destination such as someone mentioned below Luxembourg-Brussels and Amsterdam ****OTHERWISE TAKE NOTE RYANAIR**** NO POINT BRAGGING OF British routes if you are not capable of these new destinations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The more LCC routes the better, but why are LCC routes concentrated mainly in Italy and the UK? What about countries such as Germany, France, Portugal, Belgium,Switzerland, the Netherlands, East European countries? Only Airmalta and legacy airlines fly to these countries, offering prices at exorbitant prices, just enough to keep tourists from these countires away from our island. Easyjet flies practically from all these countries so why not encourage it to open up these routes instead of more routes to Italy and the UK.

Great news ! Yet more new business for Malta from EasyJet.
I must confess that having seen the 'Airline' TV show in the UK, I was extremely concerned when EasyJet first acquired the Malta-Manchester route from British Airways ( GB Airways ). However, I have now flown with EasyJet on very many occasions on a variety of routes and I cannot praise them highly enough. In my experience, the ONLY thing that lets down EasyJet's operations in Malta is the way that MIA's groundstaff manages EJ's 'Speedy Boarding' service. This frequently results in an unseemly struggle at the departure desk as passengers that have paid for this worthwhile extra, fight to get past those that have not. MIA's management might look at how other airports successfully avoid this.
Whilst praising EasyJet, I must also praise Air Malta, with whom I also continue to fly frequently. AM is clearly struggling with its high cost-base and has trimmed away many of its 'extras' in recent years. Nevertheless, it regularly manages to undercut the so-called budget operators and, as a result of the competetive situation that now exists, I have saved literally thousands in recent years. My sincere thanks go to both airlines.

2 good destinations, the more choice the better, i'd like to see soem different places for the summer route. Salzburg, Basle, Nice, Bordeux, Hamburg would be great.

Why do some people simply rap Airmalta when there is news like this? Ok it's good news for the consumer. But do not forget that it was Airmalta that opened and nurchured this route to the popularity that it has now. Much like many other routes which were then simply taken advantage of by many other airlines once the route was established at Airmalta's expense.. Airmalta is now competing very well with lower costs and more flexibility. Do not forget that Airmalta is there to stay and without Airmalta our economy wil not be what it is today.

"EasyJet " why not a link between Hamburg and Malta? Not one single low-cost Airline is operating from North Germany to Malta.

(city of Union City, Calif, 94587, USA. ) It will be much better if easyjet were to operate to Malpensa (Varese) or Linate (Milan) instead of Orio al Serio (Bergamo) because besides the airfare, passengers will be faced with the added price of shuttle bus or train ticket to Milan city, which at present is Euro 7.90 each way

There is also a desperate need to have a link with Brussels.Airmalta is very expensive and delays you by going via Amsterdam.!!!!

Irrespective of the ADD-ONS to the price shown that all these low-cost airlines impose on passengers the immensely disparate comparable bottom line prices between their tariffs and Air Malta's excessive prices is truly remarkable .Air Malta enjoyed unjust protection and had a monopoly on prices and airports served for many years and these competitive other airline fares highlights and reinforces the immutable fact that us passengers were being ripped -off by them (still are to a lesser extent )for many years. Its passenger pay-back time.

Who can't afford Airmalta's fares? Check out the Milan special offers from mid June to mid July.

@Roy
Didn't get your point. So what if its competing to airmalta? I myself cannot afford to pay airmalta prices which consist of hundreds of euros for just a single trip to england.
When will this safeguarding nonsense of our airline stop?

It will be flying to Malpensa

Good news for some but is competition helping the national airline?
Once again I wish to highlight the plight of Maltese Guide Dog Owners flying to the UK.
Neither Air Malta, Easyjet or Ryanair have completed documents that will allow us to fly to airports in Southern England. This is despie a 2007 EU agreement..

to Milan?! great!! Does anyone know to which airport will it be flying to? Malpensa or Oro al Serio? hopefully it will be the latter, so we can link up with the Ryaniar hub and also be much closer to Lago di Garda and the North-East of Italy.
