Probation order for Briton who used stolen credit card
Migrant jailed for escape from detention centre
Jaimie Paul Day, 31, a Briton resident in Sliema, today admitted in court to having used a woman's credit card to purchase items from St Julians on November 4.
He claimed that a friend had given him the card and he used it to buy everyday items with a value of €246.
Magistrate Anthony Vella placed him under probation for three years and a three year treatment order for treatment for an alcohol problem. He also has to repay the €246,.
MIGRANT JAILED
In another arraignment, a 22-year-old illegal immigrant from the Ivory Coast was jailed for six months after he escaped from Safi barracks detention centre. He escaped in September and was re-arrested two days ago.
THIEF HANDED PROBATION ORDER
Ettienne Farrugiam 32 of Zebbug was handed a three year probation order and fined €1,000 after he admitted to having stolen jewellery and household items from a house in John Borg Street, Birkirkara, in August. He also admitted causing damage tot he house.

Why aren't foreign offenders expelled after serving their sentence? Why are we allowing foreign criminals to remain in Malta?

That is British mentality my friend, that is why some 250 years ago the British were transported to Australia for stealing a loaf of bread and probably a jam doughnut, thus the term Pommies (meaning ) Prisoners of mother England) damn right too. We are more civilized in Malta, this is why the aussies prefer us the Maltese to the British as a hard working nation. G'day Mate.

Probation for JP Day. In U.K. six months jail, his name registered in the criminal list for life, ZERO chance of having a job. If the person happen to be non U.K resident , his name will be on top of list for extradition and passport Stamped XXX. ( Police drove ME to Airport) Except for the jail, the rest happened to ME last JUNE for munching an eight of a bar of chocolate before paying for it at TESCO Cafe
