Jury deadlocked in police chief trial

The jury in the trial of a police chief accused of breaking into the home of a woman who carried twins for actors Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick ended five hours of deliberations without a verdict.

The jury in the case of suspended Police Chief Barry Carpenter began deliberations at about 4.30 p.m. local time and ended for the day five hours later.

Deliberations are expected to resume tomorrow morning.
