Malta places eighth in Junior Eurovision contest
Malta placed eighth in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev last night.
Its representatives, Francesca and Mikaela, gave a spirited performance of Double Trouble, but could only garner 55 points.
The show was won by Ralf of The Netherlands, on 121 points, followed by Armenia and Russia, both on 116 points. 13 countries were represented.

@Raymond Sammut@ what makes you think that coming 8th is good news my friend, on the contrary i think coming First is better news don't you, there were other who i thought were just a complet rubbish, one comes to mind is that silly number by the Belgians they should have place bottom Last and the Dutch weren't all that brilliant either.

They will have had to earn every one of their 55 points with far more than double trouble.

The Girls' performance was exceptional, and it deserved better placing. But we know that with the stupid voting system, Malta's reps are always going to find it hard to make it to the top.
