Europa Diary is a project funded by the European Commission and developed in collaboration with Generation Europe Foundation. Besides providing students with calendar pages to keep track of school assignments, the diary is also a useful information tool.
It is distributed free to more than 3.3 million students all over Europe. In Malta, over 8,000 students make use of this diary. Its editorial content covers a wide range of issues related to the EU, including career development, health and safety, environmental protection and Europe's role in the world.
Another main objective of this diary is to ensure that European students enjoy the same rights wherever they are. It also helps young people think critically, since each page contains thought-provoking questions and inspirational quotes. Europa Diary aims to transform European students into active citizens. Through correct information, students will be in a better position to make informed decisions.
The Consumer and Competition Division is responsible for distributing Europa Diary in schools that choose to order it, including public, private and church schools.
Orders for the 2010-2011 edition of Europa Diary, targeted for 15-17-year-olds, are being accepted. Secondary and post-secondary schools are encouraged to either place their order online at www.europadiary.eu or contact the Consumer and Competition Division on 2144 6250-5 for more information.
Ms Vella is senior information officer, Consumer and Competition Division.
