Prime Minister visiting Progress Press
Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi is this morning visiting Progress Press, which is to announce major investment in new premises and equipment.
Dr Gonzi was greeted by Adrian Hillman, managing director of Progress Press,Vince Buhagiar, managing director of Allied Group and Austin Bencini, director. He will be touring the press - across the road from the Auberge de Castille - and meeting the directors, who will brief him on the project.
Progress Press is one of the leading and longest established printing presses in Malta, having been set up in 1922 by Gerald Strickland, who later also served as Prime Minister.
It today prints an ever expanding range of products - from newspapers and magazines to books, manuals, catalogues and brochures for the local and export markets. It is equipped to cater for short, medium and long runs.
Progress Press forms part of the Allied Group, which also owns The Times, The Sunday Times and timesofmalta.com.

What a major investment - which in itself contributes to various benefits to the economy. And how appropropiate the word Progress.
of othA major stalwart in Malta,s free press - who has moved on over the years even despite or rather inspite of the attempts who tried to hinder such progress to take place.
And what has been and is being registered. Time being the best advocate - a company that never looks back
Progress Press newspapers deserve all the readership that they have enjoyed and enjoy today.

Progress press is a very good high quality company. I hope that the Strickland spirit might still be alive somewhere. We need a ' WASP' mentality, with less Liberals.
Gonzi's party newspaper IN-Nazzion, looks more like a socialist rag ( tipo L-orizzont). It surprises me how the Independent still sells on the news stands.
Well, good luck and be careful of the Liberals.

Yet another major investment, the third or fourth in the last five days!
I wish Progress Press "Ad Multos Annos", keep up the good work. A big THANK YOU to those who in the past risked their lives to defend the Free Press which we now take for granted.

I hope Progress Press and other media will understand and respect other peoples' mentality and allow more freedom of speech. There should be more space how one could express one self, but unfortunately we cannot do this through the media cause all media are biased. This is why Maltese are left with such poor mentality.
