Bezzina joins Borg in Last 64

Duncan Bezzina has joined Alex Borg into the knock-out stages of the IBSF World Championships currently being played in Hyderabad, India, following a 4-1 win over home player Dhruv Sitwala yesterday.

The Senglea-born player needed a victory to secure a top-four place in Group M and achieved his goal in emphatic fashion to assure himself of a place in the Last 64.

Borg maintained a perfect record in Group D when he completed his schedule of matches with his fifth win in a row after beating Austria's Alexander Gauss 4-1.

In the masters competition, Simon Zammit also assured himself of finishing on top of Group B with an emphatic 3-0 win over Abdul Mohsen Khamis, of Qatar.
