@ Joseph Mercieca... I wonder how people like you never see a bright side in anything... I know that there are jobless people that need help but what does it have to do with some christmas lighting?? I am sure that you will not decorate your house for christmas to send any extra money paid for electricity bills to jobless people *sigh*.. impressive...

I wonder who is gonna pay the utility Bill.
Better if that money spent is used for people in need including the jobless at least to spend a decent Christmas with their families!
Seems like nobody sees consequences...

Valletta Christmas Lights up well done the Retailers group, and MTA. Is it going to be the way of Christmas or the way of the Cross? In the snippet all I saw was lit up Angels and festoons of light. Were are the words that welcome one to the City like 'Merry Christmas', ' Il-Millied it-Tajjeb', 'Awguri' a Crib or two. Are these still to come or are we doing away with them so no one is offended. One can also look at the roundabouts when until 2007 they used to be done up with Cribs and streams of Christmas Wishes. I am offended because when I pass from a roundabout and see in lights Merry Christmas I say there is someone who cares.

c. camilleri and paul barrett......my reaction to your comments?....boring!!! why can't you just appreciate how pretty this looks...how it gives our capital city such a festive, happy feel. There are enough cribs all over the island.....and good for you for saving electricity.

Hope the shop owners will foot a substanial part of the electricity bill. And yes... can we have a crib set up in our new square opposit the palace? It will surely run on much less electricity and be an added attraction in itself.

Very pretty. Personally I am trying to save on my electricity bill by having as few lights on as possible :-(
