Following a power failure in June, the Enemalta chairman suggested that this was something that happened about once every five years. I queried it, in these columns, at the time, saying that on occasions in Gozo it appeared more like every five days.
On Wednesday it happened again. So now it's every five months, rather than years - and that's even if you don't count the isolated, one-village-only cuts. The whole of Gozo was without power for three or four hours. Apparently parts of Malta, including some hospitals, suffered too. So much for high-tech Malta.
And Eco-Gozo may sound to some people like a good idea. But could we first have Electro-Gozo, and get a grant from the EU for a back-up generator?
