Portelli's team win TCK tournament

The 2009 Simpatia Crai Team Tennis Tournament, organised by Tennis Club Kordin, was contested by six teams of 23 players each. Seventy-eight men and 60 women took part in the competition which ran between August and November.

The tournament, played on a round robin basis over two rounds, proved to be a very interesting one. The six teams were balanced and this was reflected in the final table as only a few points separated the top four teams that qualified for the semi-finals.

In the final, Team E, captained by Doriana Portelli, crossed swords with Team F, of Stephen Belli.

The match was a thrilling affair as Portelli's team came from behind to clinch the coveted Crai Cup.
