Concept of an open-air theatre good for smokers
Personally, as a smoker, I happen to fully support the concept of an open-air theatre, for if this theatre is open air, therefore, by right, one can smoke at this theatre. For this I believe Renzo Piano is a true genius.

Since I was so young I promised myself not to kiss any girl who smoked. I always imagined that the intimacy between a man and a woman should never be adulterated with the artificial odour of cigaretttes and cigars. I just cannot imagine a man an a woman being intimate even up to a kissing level knowing that the purity of human union and its components are mixed with the intense disgusting remnants of cigars and cigarettes as I detect on heavy smokers . I cannot imagine the hurt of a woman who does not smoke being held at ransom in intimate circumstances which lose their purity due to tobaccco additional flavour. If both smoke then the concotion is not exactly the epitomy of natural purity but more of a washing machine with dirty clothes going through its ritual and in need of very strong detergents to clear the dirt . When my mother was alive she knew where I had been from the remnant odour on my clothes. ENOUGH SAID I guess, I shall let all smokers ponder what their partners think of them while they are in some close intimate kissing after smoking a havana cigar. UUUGGGGGG .

Can the writer assure us that his smoke would not settle on anybody else, making their clothes smell, and forcing them to breathe it in? I think not!

An open air place is not catagorized as close because the 4 sides are enclosed but because ot it's top Mr Cassar. To enlighten your memory I give you just 1 example. San Anton garden is surrounded by a huge boundary wall on all it's sides but because no one bothered to make a roof everyone is entitled to smoke without breaking the law.
By the way I'm an ex-smoker but people like you still make me want to throw up

To C. Cassar. While you'll be maintaining your health within the 4 sides, your skin will be mercilessly attacked by the deadly UV radiation from the open roof. You'll be buying your cheap matinee theatre tickets and spending ALL your time basking in the radiation when you could get this for free at the beach.

The new theatre will be enclosed on all four sides, so smoking will never be permitted. Therefore you won't be able to pollute the air within the theatre boundaries allowing others to maintain their health.
You'll be buying your expensive theatre tickets and spending most of your time outside which suits the majority inside very well.
