Globalair Travel pulled off an 8-0 victory over Ramis to go two points clear at the top of the Middlesea Valletta Life National League, as previous joint leaders okmalta.com claimed a 6-2 win over The Clan.

Fina's title hopes are now dead as they were held to a surprising four-all draw by bottom side Bank of Valletta, and it was also 4-4 between Turu's Knights and Salitos. HSBC claimed a six-point win against PharmaVet in the last match of the week.

Globalair Travel took on defending champions, third-placed Ramis in week 16, and scooped all eight points to go clear at the top.

Globalair opened the scoring confidently with an 828-759 game one win, and then made it 4-0 by taking the second 812-749 for a considerable 132 pin cushion going into game three. Globalair's pace dropped as they won it 738-705 to complete the whitewash.

Standings: Globalair Travel 98; okmalta.com 96; Ramis 81; Fina 80; Turu's Knights 61; PharmaVet, HSBC 60; Salitos 53; The Clan 33; Bank of Valletta 18.

Bowlers of the week: Sue Abela (Fina) 578; Ray Falzon Reale (okmalta.com) 697.
