Several areas shrouded in mist
UPDATED Thursday 9.10 a.m.
Valletta and several other localities were shrouded in patchy mist on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, reducing visibility to a few metres, as this footage taken in Crucifix Hill, Floriana, shows.
Readers also reported a similar situation in Sliema, Qormi, Hamrun and Blata l-Bajda. At Qormi, visibility was less than 10 metres.

The mist in the video was nothing compared to what we had in Hamrun, I've never seen anything like it before, the air was silvery and visibility was very bad. It felt like walking in cloud cover.

Where I live it's the way we spend the whole autumn before the real cold kick in. I know in Malta it's a rare event and thank God for it. It makes the days gloomy and rigidly cold even if the temperature isn't so low.

Whilst on my roof last night i saw the mist building up and forming a blanket,that rose over the Valletta breakwater-Full on humidity!

The view from the San Gwann Industrial Estate overlooking B'Kara was beautiful this morning. A thick envelope of mist shrouded the lower-lying areas leaving a clear sky above.

misty morning in zabbar, even yester evening it was really foggy/ hope it clears out, can't say what happens on the maltese roads.

from 8pm at zabbar on your way to zonqor it was full of thick mist. visibility was less than 10m. at zabbar near church it was ok. then at 11.30 from zonqor to zabbar, fgura, tarxien and st lucia it was pitch black. i could hardly drive!!!

Marsascala yesterday at 8pm was absolutely shrouded in mist! A beautiful , eerie sight which however made driving very dangerous!
Absolutely nothing could be seen further than 5 to 7 metres away....but still, a beautiful sight.

All of Marsascale, at least from Zonqor onwards, and all of Zabbar up to Fgura were in a similar situation, with visibility a few metres.

It is absolutely pitch black looking over to St. Paul's Bay (23.40hrs) and there is a thick mist over Xemxija with a really nasty smell. It seems Xemxija is the only place with electricity?
