Danger from blocks barring the way
These concrete blocks have been sitting in the middle of Piscopo Macedonia Street, in Xemxija, for years, constituting a major obstacle and danger to traffic.
Two cars cannot drive in opposite directions because this particular spot has become reduced to one lane. Although these concrete blocks were intended to guard against anyone, especially vehicles, falling into an abandoned building site, they are now posing a danger to traffic.
Both Mepa and the St Paul's Bay local council have been alerted about this problem. About a month ago, Mepa sent an officer to carry out an on-site inspection and the council reported the matter to Mepa. Since then nothing has been heard from either of them. Perhaps they are waiting for an accident to happen before taking action to have the concrete blocks removed.
