Aikido seminar attracts foreign participants

For the second time this year, Maltese Martial Arts enthusiasts will have the opportunity to watch an aikido master train with local students.

Sensei Renato Tamburelli (5 Dan) will headline the annual aikido seminar, to be held by the Aikido Yamato club at the Maria Assumpta Girls Secondary School in Ħamrun this coming weekend. Sensei Tamburelli, one of the leading aikido exponents in Italy, will be assisted by advanced students from Turkey and the Czech Republic as well as by senior members of the Yamato Dojo during the three-day seminar.

The programme comprises training drills for all senior club members and special sessions dedicated to the recently-opened Aikido Yamato Dojo junior club (ages 11 to 16).

Master Tamburelli will also oversee a grading session for the Aikido Yamato Club students.
