Obituary

BORG. On November 9, suddenly, in Malta, CHARLES (Lino) of UK, passed away at the age of 72. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Sheila, daughters Teresa and Jenny and her husband Mark, all his grandchildren, his sisters Josephine Attard and Ginette Grech, his brother Renè, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.30 p.m. for the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery chapel, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

CHETCUTI. On November 13, at Mater Dei Hospital, EMMA, née Mangion, of St Julians, aged 62, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Geoffrey, her daughters Nathalie and her husband Ian Curtis, and Stephanie and her husband Renard Saliba, her grandchildren Robert and Jessica, her sister Edith and her husband Saviour Vella, her nephew, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.30 p.m. for St Julians parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Cancer Foundation will be greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank the staff at Ward M4 and the ITU at Mater Dei Hospital. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

FARRUGIA. On November 16, at her residence in Żurrieq, MARIJA, aged 95, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her children Felix, Rita, Anthony, Frances, Josephine, Catherine and John, her in-laws, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves her residence today at 7.30 a.m. for St Catherine parish church, Żurrieq, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 7.45 a.m., followed by interment in the family grave at San Leone Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GULIA. On November 16, at Mater Dei Hospital, ex-Major, VINCENT, aged 79, from St Julians. Will always be remembered by his wife Josephine, her sisters and their spouses, their families and friends. Funeral praesente cadavere will be held tomorrow at St Julians parish church at 8.15 a.m., followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. May the Lord grant him eternal rest.

SCICLUNA. On November 15, at his daughter's residence in Gżira, JOSEPH of Valletta, aged 81, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Ċettina, his children Marlene, wife of Peter Camilleri and Pio and his wife MaryRose, his grandchildren Andrew, Mark, Gianluca and Francesco, in-laws, nephew and nieces and friends. The funeral leaves his daughter's residence today at 8 a.m. for Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Gżira, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to St Joseph's Home, Sta Venera, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Power cuts

There will be power cuts in the following localities today:

Victoria Lines Street, part of Santa Klara Street and the surrounding area in Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq from 8.30 a.m. to noon;

The Delimara fort and tal-Fanal areas of Marsaxlokk between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. and Dingli Radar in Dingli between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.;

Part of Vjal l-Indipendenza, S. Fiteni Street and the surrounding area in Mosta will be affected between 8.30 a.m. and 2 p.m., as will Lia, Corrado, Castaldi and Felice streets in Żabbar during the same period.

In Siġġiewi, the areas of San Niklaw, tal-Qanpiena and tal-Barrada will be affected between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Graduation ceremonies

Roughly 2,825 students are expected to graduate from the University of Malta this year. Graduation ceremonies will commence on November 23, with the last taking place on December 4.

Ceremonies for postgraduates will be held at the Jesuits' Church of the Old University in Valletta, while ceremonies for undergraduates will be held at the Sir Temi Zammit Hall, Msida.

Philately meeting

The BOV Valletta Fund Management Philately Club will hold a meeting at the Fatima Sanctuary Convent, Guardamangia, near the parish priest's office, today at 6 p.m. Stamp collectors are invited. For enquiries call 7931 5509.

Lost keys in Attard

A set of keys, including a car key and what seems to be a house key, was found in the vicinity of the Corinthia Hotel, Attard, last Wednesday. Whoever lost these keys can call on 7972 7964.
