NFL games on cable television
Melita would like to clarify that the transmission of NFL games on ESPN America is beyond its control as Melita is simply re-transmitting a signal from source.
ESPN America lost the rights to cover NFL in Malta and Turkey for the current season (September 2009 - January 2010). Melita was in fact informed by the channel that the ESPN America feed has been switched to the UK version, which does not include NFL in its schedule.
NFL should be back on ESPN America as from September 2010.

"and the price remained the same. "
Slight correction Mr. Camilleri. The price of the Sports channel actually went up this year with the content decreasing
And when are we getting HD? Hopefully at the same price (....wishful thinking)! Seems we are lagging behind Europe in this.

As always Melita, customer service is the least important thing on your Agenda. You may have valid reasons for your actions, however you can NEVER ignore your customers' feelings and perceptions. You have no idea how to be pro-active.... you have no idea what customer serivce really is. Remember that everything is proportionate - if you want to be the largest provider on the Island, then you MUST give the best customer service.
And you definately do not. Thus you can only be described as an arrogant company.

Well this is Melita policy guys. It's take it or leave it. A good majority of the channels on air in the various packages are never viewed as they are specific channels for people with a specific taste.
The problem is that when competition enters the fray in Malta it is either 'forced' out or otherwise they cartel together and split/share the spoils.
This usually results in prices remaining more or less stable while the quality goes down.

So where does that leave us for this year. NFL was listed in the Melita Guide and until last week on the info box of the television screen. It would be nice to know when you found this information out - no Super Bowl I guess either? Perhaps some compensation is in order - the baseball coverage was good - but football is the other half of the equation for me. I look forward to hearing from you.

but Mr. Borg... you NEVER reduce the price of your TV! This is what happened when you lost the Formula 1 rights for this year. As a Melita sports subscriber I WAS NOT INFORMED and the price remained the same. The most followd sports in Malta are Football and F1, and you just drop F1 from the sports channel without deducting it from your price. Don't tell me that you gave me other sports please, 3/4 of the maltese don't care about the other sports that you give us.
