DEBONO. On November 13 at Capua Residence, Sliema, MARY née Cuschieri, aged 78, widow of Angelo, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her brothers and sisters Victor and Marie, Maurice and Joan, residing in Australia, Louis, Imelda and Joe Borg Bartolo, Ethel, Marthese, widow of her brother Tony, residing in the UK, Alfred and Monica, her late husband's relatives, her nephews and nieces. The funeral leaves Capua Residence today at 9 a.m. for Stella Maris parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

HOLMBERG. On November 13, at Charella Home, Gżira, JOAN (Gianna), aged 90, passed peacefully away. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Sandy and her husband Tony Scerri, Kym and her husband Oleg Proudnikov, her granddaughter Danae and her husband Steve Gingell and her grandson Aleksander, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Charella Home today at 10.15 a.m. for Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. in the chapel, followed by interment. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated.

MONACO. On November 13, MYRIAM née Pirotta, aged 74, of Qawra, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Maurice, her daughters Charelle and her husband Reuben Abela, Anne Marie and her husband Henri Saliba, her beloved grandson Mark, her sisters and brothers and their spouses, her in-laws, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 9 a.m. for the Ta' l-Ibraġ parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m. followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Hospice Movement will be appreciated.

SOLER. On November 14, at Zammit Clapp Hospital, St Julians, AMALIA, née Zammit, aged 89, passed peacefully away. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Albert, Yvonne and her husband Joseph Galea, Miriam and her husband Sandro Tonna, Louise, widow of her son Richard, her grandchildren Debbie and her husband Georges, Malcolm, Serena, Raphael and his wife Alison, Karl and his wife Louisa, great-grandchildren Sophie, Tara and Matthew, her sister Tessie, wife of Thomas Demajo, in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mass praesente cadavere will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Balluta, today at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord grant her eternal rest. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.

Power cuts

The electricity supply will today be suspended from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Triq Maħsel, Munxar, Qaqliet and Skiet streets in Marsascala and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Triq Bordino, St Anthony, Ġulju, Rebbiegħa, Sajf, San Xmun, Sant'Antnin, Santa Marija, Tafal, Wardija, Xitwa and Dawret Il-Gżejjer in Buġibba and Triq Naħla, Lifurna, Qolla S-Safra and Qbajjar streets in Marsalforn.

It will also be suspended from 8.30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Triq Dun Karm Scerri, Ħabbata, Sejjieħ and Leli Falzon in Naxxar and Triq Waqqafa, Ta' Mlit, Merill, Rundun, Bilbla, Ħuttaf and Bufula Ħamra in Mosta.

Edexcel certificates

Certificates for the May/June Edexcel London examinations can be collected from the Examinations Department in Floriana and the Examination Centre in Victoria, the Director of Education said.

Candidates are reminded that certificates can only be collected on presentation of their ID card and their result slip. If the certificate is collected by a legal guardian, the ID card of both the legal guardian and the candidate should be presented.

Lifecycle dinner

Lifecycle Organisation will hold a Maltese/Turkish dinner at the Radisson SAS, Golden Sands on Friday at 7.30 p.m., proceeds from which will go towards renal patients.
