CHASE. I was born on November 5 at St James Capua Hospital, Sliema. I am God's precious gift, a first-born daughter to my parents Vanya née Pace and Kenneth. Special thanks go to the obstetrician who took care of my mum and me during the past nine months and during labour, together with the midwife, Ms Carmen Scerri. CASTILLO - JEREMY and PERNILLA
Married at St Patrick's church, Sliema, on September 12, 2009. After 11 years of civil marriage the couple celebrated their church marriage, witnessed by Ian and Martina Castillo. A reception was held at The Palace Hotel, Sliema.
Dr ANTONIO GHIO, LL.D. and Dr KRISTA PISANI BENCINI, LL.D.
The Carmelite church, Mdina, on Saturday, October 31, 2009, was the venue for the marriage ceremony between ANTONIO, son of Joe and Josephine Ghio, and KRISTA, daughter of Geoffrey and Mariella Pisani Bencini. Nuptial Mass was celebrated by Fr Savio Vella, SDB, and Fr Charles Cini, SDB, who officiated at the marriage ceremony. The bride was accompanied down the aisle by her father Geoffrey, attended to by her sister, Dr Berta Pisani Bencini, LL.D., as bridesmaid and by her cousins Christopher and Jan Buhagiar as pageboys. Dr Paul Gonzi, LL.D., and Mr Ryan Buttigieg were best men, while Dr Monica Galea, LL.D., Mrs Pamela Cordina, Dr Mark Fenech, LL.D., and Mr Bryan Muscat witnessed the ceremony. After a champagne celebration on the Mdina Bastions, a cocktail party was held at Villa Arrigo, San Pawl tat-Tarġa, followed by a reception under the villa's marquee. The couple are presently on honeymoon in France.

CARUANA. On November 14, at Mater Dei Hospital, PAWLA, aged 81, widow of Carmelo, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Carmen, Anthony, Andreana, Maria, Joe, Manwel, Louis, Catherine, Gino, Marthese, Joan, Tania, Sammy, Michelle, Sonia and Ġuza, widow of Mario, their spouses, granchildren and their partners, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral will be held tomorrow at St Catherine parish church, Żurrieq, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 7.45 a.m. followed by interment at San Leone cemetery, Żurrieq. No flowers by request but donations to Villa Mgr Gonzi, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Geoffrey, her daughters Nathalie and her husband Ian, and Stephanie and her husband Renard, her grandchildren Robert and Jessica, her sister Edith and her husband Saviour, her nephew, other relatives and friends.
