Tom Jones awes the crowd
Described by some as a legend among legends, superstar Tom Jones is this evening pleasing the mixed age crowd which has filled the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre at Ta’ Qali.
Renowned for a stream of classic chart-toppers like Sex Bomb and It’s Not Unusual, the veteran crooner opened the night with Sugar Daddy from his latest album 24 Hours.
The concert was organised by NNG Promotions.

Great performance, an incredible voice !
What a shame the area was in pitch darkness, can't the parking areas be numbered and maybe transport system provided similar to the city cabs at a nominal fee when performances are held, bearing also in mind that Mr Jones attracts listeners who are not so young and mobile, why are these necessities overlooked? Pity really, however, full marks go to the organisers who give the Maltese audience and visiting tourists alike a chance to enjoy such concerts.

@ Joseph Schembri. How old are you to forgot musical past in suh a narrow minded way? I'm not saying that the bands you mentisoned are not good... but with the exeption of U2, Tom Jones is more famous and much more appreaciated than muse and placebo combined. I mean I'm into the most extreme of music and yet I still appreciate TJ's talent.

What a great showman TJ is. Two hours of singing and not a single beat missed. You wouldn't believe he's 69. Enjoyed the show tremendously. WHEN IS HE COMING BACK??? His band was spectacular too. The sound was great! Why can't we get the sound right when there are performances such as National Orchestra goes pop? Well done Nng, Leaving MFCC was a mightmare though. Chaos in the dark. It's a miracle no-one got hurt with people walking between moving cars. More organisation there please.

What about a really great act? I'm thinking along the lines of .... Depeche Mode, Placebo, Muse, U2...

I think that yesterday's show was brilliant - Amazing how although 69 years - very healthy. Looks like he doesn't deal with todays horrible stuff. Good for him. Enjoyed myself very much and looking forward to someone else. Agree with the comments of Rod Stewart. well done to all involved in the organization.

Fascinating personality and still a great singer .I had the pleasure of serving this Superstar at the Central Hotel in Glasgow ,Scotland back in 1968 when he gave a great performance at the Odeon Theatre.

It was a great show - well done to everyone involved with its organisation. And a big thanks to Sir Tom for agreeing to come to Malta. What a voice!
Shame the street lighting and signage around the venue were so hopeless and that there were no staff/police/wardens involved with directing traffic after the gig, as trying to leave was a nightmare.

I'm sorry Jennifer but for a 69 year old, I think his voice is better than ever. Plus, I hope that the organisers now understand that when they get such 'bigs' they have to make sure that they bring the full compliment like TJ did! The whole band and singers were fantastic. I saw a movie of his Cardiff concert about six years ago and it was same level. Well done Nng for this. Please get us more showmen like him....Rod Stewart is one for instance.

Sorry Cilia@ i for one wasen't amused as much i thought i would be, not as good as when i watched his show last back in the states, a bit slower and not asmuch of a mover as what he used to be, but then thats my opinion, i think the best thing for me is to just hold on to his records, but last night's live live performace was a bit of a disappointment for me. Hope others enjoyed more then i did.
