Spinola joins Tug Malta fleet
The latest addition to Tug Malta's fleet, a €10.7 million tug boat weighing 80 tonnes, was yesterday christened Spinola by the Prime Minister's wife Kate Gonzi.
The tug is fully equipped with fire-fighting, oil recovery and salvage equipment, to be prepared for any emergency that may occur.
Tug Malta Ltd, formerly state-owned, was privatised to Italian company Rimorchiatori Riuniti Group. The Italian company invested more than €100 million to acquire all Tug Malta's shareholding and buy the new vessel and two others, expected for delivery next year.
The Spinola joined Tug Malta's fleet of six modern tugs.

Your attack on the Shipyard workers illustrates the brain washing and hatred that the PN had perpetrated over the years against the Shipyards workers. If you had worked at the Shipyards you will certainly not write what you did because you would then know that what you wrote is not the truth.
How about that foreign manager who is responsible for the Fairmount disastrous contract?
Why were the managers normally consulted not consulted for this contract?
Why was the foreign manager allowed or helped to escape?
Why was a public independent inquiry not made?
Who had anything to hide?
What did they have to hide?
What has the Government got to hide?
No Cassar, the Shipyards were closed through the hatred perpetrated by the PN leaders over the years and at the behest of the eu that wanted to eliminate competition to its mainland shipyards. This contract proved this.

@Igalea: The workers at the Malta shipyard were overpaid and their productivity was abismal. That's why they don't win any contracts. They simply can't compete. Why should the Maltese taxpayer support an out of date operation that has been strangled by the unions?
If the Italians can make the same or better shipping products for a lower cost then they should get the business. Italy isn't a 3rd world country with 3rd world pay rates, so why can't Malta compete effectively with the Italians?

This shows how the Gonzi-Austin duo together with the eu wanted to close down the Shipyard by not giving it work while giving work to foreign shipyards. Does anyone need more proof than this?
