Man, 17, charged with prostituting minors

A 17-year-old youth from Vittoriosa was yesterday charged with prostituting minors and living off their earnings.

The accused, whose name cannot be published because of his age, was also charged with taking part in sexual activities with minors, threatening and insulting his victims, relapsing as well as driving without a licence or insurance.

The youth pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody. In a separate case, a Libyan living in Victoria pleaded not guilty to mugging a person in Swieqi last September.

Abdussalam Essalhi Eliftouri was also charged with the unlawful possession of a knife. He was also remanded in custody.
