For over a decade, the residents of Rabat and indeed, all Maltese and foreigners who visit Rabat and Mdina, especially during the weekend, have complained about the sorry state of the car park in front of Howard Gardens in Rabat.

We now have a car park to be proud of. I would like to thank the Environment Ministry, the local council and all residents who have contributed to making our long-awaited dream come true.

Your newspapers also deserve gratitude for raising awareness of the problem and contributing to the start of the project. A lot of effort has been put in, creating a clean, attractive and functional site.

The old vegetable market building has for now been left because of Mepa red tape, but the car park cannot be complete unless it is demolished.

Thanks for a job well done.
