Maltese emigrants will come together next year in a convention organised by the government.

The Convention of Maltese Living Abroad, organised by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, will take place from March 15 to 18 at the Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry in Republic Street, Valletta.

Foreign Minister Tonio Borg said the aim of the convention was to examine the progress registered in the protection of rights and interests of emigrants over the last 10 years.

This is the third migrants' convention being organised, with the first held in 1969 and the second in 2000.
