A 25-year-old man from Għaxaq yesterday pleaded guilty to stealing a cheque book and using it to defraud a company of over €2,300 by forging the owner's signature.

Duncan Buttigieg, who was also accused of relapsing, pleaded guilty and Magistrate Audrey Demicoli put off the case to Monday for judgment.

Police Inspector Raymond Cassar prosecuted.

Lawyer José Herrera and legal procurator Noel Bianco appeared for the accused.
