Leave beautiful Balluta Square alone

I have been coming to Malta on holiday for the last 20 years and have now been a resident for the last two years. I have spent many happy hours sitting in Balluta Square watching the world go by and meeting people of all nationalities.
This square must be the prime unspoilt position to sit out in Malta. How can anybody in their right mind think of building a car park underneath this square, when there is a car park a few metres away, attached to a white elephant building, which has already spoiled the Balluta area?
As far as turning the toilets into a bus terminus, is the St Julians council prepared to build another public convenience anywhere in this area?
As far as I know the nearest one there is, is a "ladies" in Spinola, and a ladies and gents in the Independence Gardens in Sliema. Get your act together St Julians council and leave Balluta Square alone.
