Finance Minister Tonio Fenech and his wife Claudine filed a libel suit against One Productions head of news Glenn Bedingfield for repeating claims made in a Sunday newspaper even after they had filed a judicial protest denying the claims

MaltaToday had reported that a small turnkey firm was told their work on his house was in return for his brokering the sale of Jerma Hotel. Mr Fenech denied the allegations and said he paid for the works after they were certified by an architect.

The protest was against Opposition Leader Joseph Muscat, Malta Today editor Matthew Vella, Mr Bedingfield and the director of Rainbow Turnkey Projects, Charles Magro.
