Fire at Birkirkara house

Residents of a house in Birkirkara were evacuated following a fire this morning.

The fire is thought to have been caused by a washing machine and spread quickly to the rest of the washroom.

Three fire engines were on site at Francesco Buhagiar Street.

The fire started at around 10.45 a.m. One of the tenants is being treated for shock.
