December 9, Conference on the European Machinery Industry

The conference "Machinery in Europe: Perspectives and challenges for the European machinery industry" will bring together decision-makers, stakeholders and directive's practitioners. From their different perspectives -political, regulatory and industrial-, they will analyse the situation of the sector after the downturn and devise forward-looking initiatives for the future.

December 3-4, Sixth ECB/CEPR Labour Market Workshop

The ECB will hold the 6th joint ECB/CEPR labour market workshop on December 3 to 4, 2009 on the topic of "European Labour Market Adjustment". As the economic downturn has moved from the financial market to the broader economy, understanding the ways in which labour markets respond and adjust to shocks is of fundamental importance.

The workshop will deal with issues relating to the adjustment of unemployment, employment and wages, as well as the roles of reforms and polices in influencing labour market outcomes. The workshop will be held from December 3 to 4 in Frankfurt, Germany.
