SmartCity Malta head appointed

Jin Choi

Jin Choi, the executive director of strategy and business development for SmartCity, has been appointed head of SmartCity Malta.

Acting SmartCity Malta CEO Fareed Abdulrahman said that in its recruitment process for a Malta country director, the company could not overlook the talent and commitment within the organisation so it opted to make an internal choice.

Mr Jin holds a masters in business administration from IMD, Switzerland and was previously employed at multinationals such as Morgan Stanley, Schindler and OC Oerlikon (former Unaxis).

when malta drydocks appointed foreign executives it marked it's death sentence!...............btw these people where paid exorbitant high salaries without practically achieving nothing...............is it possible there is no valid Maltese individual capable of managing strategy and business development at smart city??

What's the problem in appointing the executive director of strategy and business development not Maltese? Considering the dimension of the project I don't see any problems. We can learn from such employees. Instead of wasting our energy in commenting about foreign employees it is better to accept and work with such employees, with the aim to develop more our skills and knowledge.

Does anyone who is writing in a critical way know anything what it means "strategy and business development" for such an entity as Smart City? Please stop showing your shallow knowledge!

I hope that Mr Choi does a great job so as to be able to see the fruit of this endevour.

This shows that the project is still alive and kicking and not dead on the water as the impression that was given. Hope that such project will generate revenue and jobs as promised.
