A sum of 10 million euros is being allocated to accelerate payments for expropriations which took place before 1994, as well as to resolve old cases of possession and use.

Finance Minister Tonio Fenech said in the Budget speech that successive socialist governments took the land for housing reasons and never paid any compensation to the owners concerned.
