Golden Wedding

The marriage took place on November 8, 1959, at Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema. Fr Peter Baptist Farrugia celebrated Mass. Congratulations and best wishes from their children Rita, Josephine and her husband Giovanni Cacici and their grandchildren Morena, Karin and Matteo.

Requiem Masses

A memorial concelebrated Mass for the repose of H.L. Bishop FRANCIS BALDACCHINO, OFM Cap., Bishop of Malindi, Kenya, who died on October 9, will be led by Bishop Paul Darmanin, OFM Cap., Bishop of Garissa, tomorrow at 6 p.m. at the Holy Trinity parish church, Marsa. Your participation and prayers are greatly appreciated. On the first anniversary of the passing away of ANGELA DE MARCO, née Tabone, tomorrow's 6.30 p.m. Mass at Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, will be offered for the repose of her soul. The attendance of relatives and friends will be greatly appreciated.

FALZON. On November 6 at St Vincent de Paul hospital, STELLA of San Ġwann, aged 86, widow of Joseph, passed peacefully away. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Colin, John, Emily, Rose, Susan, Manwel and Julian, their respective spouses, grandchildren and great-grand-children, her sister Nina Tanti and Jerome, widower of her daughter Josefa, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul tomorrow at 7.45 a.m. for San Ġwann parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be held at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal peace. Special thanks to doctors and staff at Serenity 3 at St Vincent de Paul hospital.

GAUCI. On November 6 at Mater Dei Hospital, MARIA CONCETTA, of Żabbar, aged 78, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Annie and her husband Lolly, Tonina and her husband Peter, and Raymond and his wife Maria, her grandchildren Neville, Nerissa, Karen, Kirstin, Loredana, Wayne, Dustin, Clayton and Jessica, her great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral was held yesterday at Żabbar Sanctuary, followed by interment at Żabbar cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GHIRXI. On November 7 at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMELO of Sliema, aged 82, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Carmela née Cefai, his children Anthony and his wife Mary, Mary and her husband Joe, John and his wife Lina and Eddie and his wife Julie, his grandchildren Kirsten, Olwen, Joanne, Fabian, Diane, Anthony, Angela, Kyle, Sharon and Donna, his great-grandchildren, in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.45 p.m. for Lourdes church, San Ġwann, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. SCICLUNA. On November 6, suddenly, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOE, Emeritus Hon. Consul General of the Philippines, passed away. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Corinne née Fava Boffa, his sisters Maria, Doris, wife of John Grech, his in-laws Isabel, wife of David Formosa, Peter, husband of Eduige of New Zealand, Denise, wife of Joe Ellul Sullivan, Marcelle, wife of Joseph Abela, and Angele Craver of the US, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and grand-nieces, other relatives and friends, and the Filipino community of Malta, especially Tessie Descaya. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.45 p.m. for Lija parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.15 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. O Holy St Jude, apostle and martyr, great in virtue and rich in miracles, near kinsman of Jesus Christ, faithful intercessor of all who invoke you, special patron in time of need, to you I have recourse from the depths of my heart and humbly beg you, whom God has given such great power, to come to my assistance. Help me now in my present and urgent need and grant my earnest petition. In return I promise to make your name known and cause you to be invoked.
