On October 31 I needed to use public transport from Valletta. I arrived at the terminus at 10.13 a.m. to board bus No. 42 which covers the Ta' Giorni/San Ġwann route. But the bus was not there.
After five minutes I queried the cause of the delay at the dispatcher's office only to be told that the bus had already left and the next one was scheduled to leave at 10.45 a.m. When I remarked that I had arrived at the terminus in good time for the 10.15 a.m. bus, the man at the dispatch office at the time, simply shrugged, and said that they just follow the timings shown by the clock at the terminus which was running around 10 minutes fast on this occasion.
Now I understand why I and many others are always missing the bus at Ta' Giorni, being the most convenient location near my home.
This state of affairs is deplorable besides being idiotic and it seems it only happens in Malta.
