Flowers were laid at the foot of a monument in Żewwieqa, Mġarr, last Sunday in memory of 23 people who lost their lives when their luzzu foundered in rough seas 61 years ago. Ony four people survived.

The ceremony was followed by Mass celebrated by Għajnsielem archpriest Frankie Bajada on board a Gozo Channel vessel.

After Mass relatives and friends threw flowers into the sea near Hondoq ir-Rummien Bay.
