Smart City appoints site-wide grading contractors

Smart City has appointed 3 Bees JV as site-wide grading contactor for its development. Site-wide grading works include the entire Smart City Malta site, encompassing all phases of the development.

3 Bees JV, composed of VandC Contractor, Bonavia Brothers Co. Ltd and J. Bonavia and Nephews Ltd, formed a joint venture for tendering for the site-wide grading works for Smart City Malta.

The award of this tender follows the recent approval by the Malta Environment and Planning Authority for the site-wide grading application. The three contractors forming part of the joint venture have been operating for over a decade in the market.

Smart City Malta said the grading plan ensured the comfort of future Smart City business partners, by isolating construction work away from completed project phases. In this way, noise and dust pollution was greatly reduced and health and safety measures were met.

The grading of Smart City Malta will begin later this month. Road works including the entrance boulevard to the site, the road leading to SCM01, will also be contoured together with the surrounding plots. This first phase of grading works will be completed ahead of SCM01's public opening. The first deliverables from the project will be the release of 12,000 square metres of office space next year.
