Environmental permitting: General binding rules (9)

GBR 16 - Miscellaneous group

GBR 16 sets out environmental conditions for small-scale enterprises not included in any other GBR group.

The miscellaneous group is comprised of SMEs involved in the manufacture of; (i) corrugated paper and paperboard, and (ii) games and toys, as well as other enterprises specialised in electricity generation (not under IPPC legislation), the storage and warehousing service, and the collection and treatment of sewage.

These proposed general binding rules (GBRs) have been drawn up by Mepa with the aim of assisting small-scale businesses to achieve compliance with national environmental laws while avoiding excessive administrative burden. Both the proposed GBRs and guidance notes are being made available on Mepa website www.mepa.org.mt/gbrs. Comments can be sent to the authority via e-mail to gbr@mepa.org.mt by not later than December 7.
