ASM motocross riders are gunning for a good performance in Sunday's beachcross race in Calabria.

ASM motocross riders will be in Calabria, Italy, this weekend for a beachcross race on the sandy beach of Gioia Tauro. Luigi Mamone, the region's motoring federation head, has invited the Maltese riders to figure in this weekend's competition.

Clayton Camilleri, on a KTM, Kawasaki riders Melvin Borg and Paul Muscat, and Chris Muscat, on a Honda, will be pitting their wits against some renowned European beachcross riders.

The Maltese contingent will be led by ASM president Frans Deguara.

Meanwhile, the second event of the 2009/10 ASM championship will be held on Sunday at Ta' Qali, starting at 11 a.m. The programme includes autocross, bangers and quadbike races.

After the first autocross event, Christian Galea (Fiat), Mark Galea (Alfa Sud) and Michael Pace (Fiesta Mk3) are occupying the top three positions in Class A.
