Yacht owners are preferred bidders

The foundation of boat owners holding berths at Msida and Ta' Xbiex was yesterday selected as preferred bidder for the privatisation of the Msida yacht marina.

Late last month, the same foundation had been selected as preferred bidder for the Ta' Xbiex yacht marina.

The government said it accepted the recommendation of the Privatisation Unit's evaluation committee to choose Creek Developments Foundation as preferred bidder for the Msida yacht marina. Talks between government and the foundation are expected to start shortly.

The privatisation involves the operation and management of the marina.

The preferred bidders for the Ta' Xbiex and Mġarr Gozo yacht marinas were announced on October 21.
