The eighth and last event of the Island Car Club's 2009 Hillclimb and Sprint Championship is scheduled for next Sunday at Ġnejna.
This is one of the faster venues on the local calendar, combining high-speed flowing curves with a dipped left-right flick down a bridge, culminating in a roaring sprint up the steep hill.
Over 50 drivers are expected to race against the clock.
Despite the fact that the overall championship was won in the previous race, there are several classes where the title race is still open and this should create a healthy competitive atmosphere.
The first run of the day will be at 9 a.m.
As interest in the championship has increased significantly during the season, an open paddock will be held after Sunday's final race, allowing motoring enthusiasts to mingle with the drivers and their crew and view racers from close quarters.
