Obituary

BARTOLO. On November 3, at Mater Dei Hospital, ĠUŻA of Burmarrad, widow of Wistin, aged 84, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Cecilia, Catherine, Salvina, Angela, Martin, Miriam (MUSEUM member), Christina, Carmen, Paul, Helen, John, Alfred and Martha and their families. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 3.15 p.m. for Burmarrad parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 4 p.m., followed by interment at Burmarrad cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Society of Christian Doctrine (MUSEUM) will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

CARUANA DINGLI. On November 3, FRANCIS of Żabbar, residing at Sta Luċia, aged 81, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Mary, his children Anna and her husband Paul, Joseph and his wife Lilian, his most treasured grandchildren Stephen, David, Edward, Amy and John, his brother-in-law Patrick and his wife Elena, his sisters-in-law Mary Bond and Mary Anne Bond, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2.30 p.m. for Sta Luċia parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3 p.m., followed by interment at the Madonna tal-Ħniena Cemetery, Żabbar. May the Lord grant him eternal rest.

CHETCUTI. On November 4, Fr BONAVENTURA CHETCUTI, OSA, went to meet the Risen Lord at the venerable age of 91. He leaves to mourn his loss his brothers of the Augustinian Community, his brothers John and his wife Carmen, Frans and his wife Violet, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated today at 9 a.m. at St Augustine parish church, Valletta. A prayer is solicited.

CUTAJAR. On November 4, ROSE, née Sammut of Żejtun, aged 82, widow of Faustino, passed away peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughter Catherine and her husband Joseph Caruana, her son Jesmond and his wife Paula, her grandchildren Janice, Elaine, Karen and their fiancés, her sister Frances and her husband Anthony Saliba, Miriam, widow of her brother Carmelo Sammut, in-laws and their families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2.45 p.m. for St Gregory church, Żejtun, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m. followed by interment at the Żejtun cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Caritas Malta and Dar Nazaret, Żejtun, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

DEBARRO. On November 4, MARY GRACE, of Senglea, aged 76, passed away peacefully at St Vincent De Paul Residence, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her brothers Joseph and his wife Giovanna, Paul and his wife Effie, Anthony and his wife Carmen, Jessie, widow of her brother Francis, the Franciscan Sisters Tal-Qalb bla tebgħa ta' Marija, Ħamrun, nephew, nieces, grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent De Paul at 7.15 a.m. on Saturday for the Senglea Basilica where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 7.45 a.m. followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi will be greatly appreciated. The family regret that they are unable to receive visitors at home. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GIGLIO. On November 4, GUIDO, of Valletta, aged 83, passed away peacefully at Karen Grech Hospital. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Jessie, his children Polly, Sylvia, Alfonso, Tony, Charlie, Anna, Sandro, Bianca and Robert, their respective spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his sisters Rosina and Dolor, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Karen Grech Hospital tomorrow at 7.15 a.m. for St Paul Shipwrecked church, Valletta, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8 a.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

A remembrance Mass for the repose of the soul of ERMELINA MORLEY will be concelebrated by Fr Sebastian Camilleri and Fr Joe Cini, tomorrow at 9 a.m. at St Patrick's church, Sliema.

Power cuts

The electricity supply will be suspended today as follows:

From 7.30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in parts of Gafar, Camenzuli, San Enriku and Sant Angelo streets in Sliema.

From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Luzzu, Mungbell, Rabat, Marsalforn and Vulkan streets and in Refalo Square, Marsalforn.

Taizé Experience

On the occasion of the 41st anniversary of its foundation, the Santa Ċeċilja Gżira parish choir will present Taizé Experience, a small concert with a number of passages relating to Taizé. The event, on November 14 at 6 p.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Gżira, will also include a thanksgiving Mass.

Everyone is invited, especially former members of the choir.

Choral and organ concert

The Saint Paul Choral Society will be holding a gala choral and organ concert on Saturday at 7.30 p.m. at the St Paul's Anglican Cathedral, Valletta, in support of the recently reformed Friends of the Cathedral.
