Go yesterday unveiled new rates on its internet "On The Move" services.
At a business breakfast forum, the communications company also launched "Duo Pack", an innovative bundle of ADSL internet and fixed phone line telephony with six months' free internet.
The "On The Move" data/internet rates, which allow customers to access the internet from all devices from Web-enabled mobiles to netbooks, have been simplified.
Starting at €5.99 a month, they provide customers with various monthly bundles of up to 7GB a month. Customers can opt to purchase additional bundles starting from €1 per 20MB. Additionally, subscribers of these tariffs can get free unlimited access to several popular web and WAP sites until next January 31, including Ebay, Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin. The free usage applies when such sites are accessed through the web or WAP browser, and not through any downloadable applications.
The event, held at The Palace Hotel, Sliema, also served to showcase the BlackBerry Curve 8520, which is now being made available to Go customers, and the latest "Laptop Connect" models which are bundled for free with Go's "On the Move" tariffs.
Duo Pack, builds on the success of Go's package range, including Home Pack and Business Pack. This new bundle includes internet connectivity and unlimited Go-to-Go fixed line calls with 'Talk Anytime' and the added convenience of one bill.
Duo Pack sells at €9.99 per month for the first six months, during which customers get internet for free and unlimited phone calls to other Go numbers. After the first six months, Duo Pack is charged at €19.99. Early customers can get €10 off from a Philips cordless phone.
In the last few weeks, Go doubled the speed of its entry level ADSL internet product at no extra cost to its customers, while offering half-price rates to new internet customers. Go's new internet mobile European roaming rates came into effect last November.
Yesterday's forum was addressed by Go chief executive David Kay, chief operating officer Norbert Prihoda, Emitac Mobile Solutions LLC (BlackBerry®) senior marketing manager Janne Kilpelainen, Smart Technologies chief executive Joseph Aquilina, and Go's head international, wholesale and alliances Christian Sammut.
