Invalidity pensions withdrawn
The government has withdrawn the invalidity pension of 414 persons during 2008 and this year.
Minister John Dalli told Labour MP Adrian Vassallo that this followed a review of 1,179 cases in 2008 and 770 cases this year.
The bulk of reviews and withdrawals were made in Gozo. There were 302 revisions and 93 withdrawals in 2008 and 163 revisions and 55 withdrawals this year.

@ A Zammit
No need to investigate the doctors who issued their certificates to the 414 persons, cut off from 'invalidity pension'.
They all got better suddenly, without explanation.
A modern miracle!?

Presumably invalidity pensions are granted after submission of the necessary medical certificates; it will be interesting to find out whether some doctors abused their position and issued false ones, and if yes, what action is being taken against them !!!!
