Valencia strikes late to send United through

Manchester United reached the Champions League knockout stage after Antonio Valencia struck in stoppage time to give them a 3-3 draw at home to CSKA Moscow in their Group B match on Tuesday.

The Russian side, with coach Leonid Slutsky in his first match in charge after last week's dismissal of Juande Ramos, had led 3-1 thanks to goals from Alan Dzagoev, Milos Krasic and Vasily Berezutsky and a Michael Owen effort for United.

With six minutes to go, Paul Scholes headed in to set up a dramatic finale and a last-gasp deflected strike from Valencia salvaged a point for the home side.
