Minors surely drink
A news item that appeared on October 28 must rate as the most tragic joke of the year.
I was delivering a talk to Fifth Formers in a girls' school some months back - all under 16 - about 80 in all.
I asked them how many of them had never tasted alcohol and very few raised their hand. I also asked them if they drank alcohol at home and no one raised their hand.
I then asked how many of them had been to Paceville or any other place of entertainment on a weekend and practically all of them raised their hand.
Fibbing? Bravado?
I doubt it.
