Roberta Rizzo, KSU education co-ordinator
"For the University to be a centre of excellence, it needs to be given the attention a centre of excellence merits. The University should be allocated more funds to support scientific research, more staff to ensure that communication and administration within its structures is upheld, and more credit for the work it produces."

Lisa Abela, 3rd year, Engineering
"Yes. For the country's population and projected needs I believe there is an adequate balance in the amount the government invests in education. But this does not mean there is no room for improvement, especially in areas linked to the services and hospitality sectors and the preservation of the country's cultural heritage."

Victoria Rizzo, 2nd year, MD
"No, the authorities are definitely not investing enough money in higher education. An immediate improvement both in the quality and quantity of lecturers is needed. The University library also falls far below expectations. For example, its medical textbooks are all ancient and therefore useless for current students."

Daniel Croucher, 1st year, MD
"No, part-time lecturers are not paid enough and this leads to lower quality. More funds should be available for independent research at University. More care and attention needs to be given to the University as a whole, and funds should be allocated to it as a top priority, rather than to other institutions. This will help maintain the University's reputation, which is fading fast."
