Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna has commended the government for amending the Land Acquisition Ordnance by which private heritage property can be transferred into public tenure.

FWA said in a statement these changes are vital in securing threatened heritage property in private ownership.

"One now hopes that several past mistakes in the field are rectified and that urgent cases of heritage property in serious peril of being lost forever be quickly tackled and saved for posterity," it said.
